When asked by Punch why she gave OJB,her husband of 20 years her kidney, his first wife Mabel said

Mabel:

I did not even think twice about it, I had it and I gave it to him. He is my husband, the father of our children and I love him. This is somebody I have been with all my life. I did not tell anybody before I decided to, not even my parents because I had foreseen their reaction. There was no reason to inform them. When I married him, I told God I wanted the both of us to grow old together and live to see many generations. I am sure God knew this situation before he brought us together because not only am I a match for him, we are the same blood group and we are both stubborn.

Those were the times when things got really bad for my mother and I and we had nothing. It was so bad that we didn’t have a home or shelter to live in. We had to stay in a store, a small store that could take only one mat. My mother and I squeezed ourselves in that mat. We didn’t even have a cup to drink water not to talk of a stove to cook. And my mother had to borrow, beg and stuff like that. These were moments when I was young I didn’t realize the gravity of poverty we were in, I couldn’t tell. But it was a good orientation for me.

It was moments that I thank God for making me past through, because that has sustained and helped me even as an actor. The ability to deliver all the roles they give me because I have tasted both sides of the coin.

FG Makes U-Turn; Says No Plans To Sell Refiberies Or Increase Fuel Pump Price!

The Federal Government said, yesterday, that it had no plans to increase the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, popularly known as petrol from the prevailing pump price of N97 per litre, describing the growing fear of imminent price hike as unfounded.

Equally, what appeared to be a major change in policy, the Federal Government, yesterday, said it has no plans to sell any of the country’s refineries. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, who spoke on the issue, also said that if selling the refineries was the basis for the plan by the junior oil workers to embark on strike, then the action would be fruitless. A pastor in Gabon who tried to imitate Jesus Christ drowned to his death after he tried to walk on water in front of his congregation.
Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation that he was capable of reenacting the very miracles of Jesus Christ. He decided to make it clear through way of demonstration on Gabon’s beach in the capital city of Libreville.
Referencing Matthew 14:22-33, Kabele said that he received a revelation which told him that with enough faith he could achieve what Jesus was able to.
According to an eyewitness, Kabele took his congregation out to the beach. He told them that he would cross the Kombo estuary by foot, which is normally a 20 minute boat ride.
Sadly by the second step into the water Kabele found himself completely submerged. He never returned.

Police arrest Rivers lawmaker, Chidi Lloyd, over alleged murder of two people

Chidi Lloyd, the Rivers State lawmaker who was arrested for hitting his colleague with a mace during the mayhem at Rivers State Assembly in July 2013, is in trouble again.

The River State Police Command has arrested him for the alleged murder of 2 people, one Kingsley Ejeuo and police sergeant Urang Obadiah.

In a statement issued by the Rivers State police, Chidi Lloyd is accused of knocking down and killing the police sergeant while pursuing Kingsley Ejeuo who he also killed. The statement below...

“The Rivers State Police Command has arrested Hon. Chidi Llyod of the Rivers State House of Assembly for murder of police Sgt. Urang Obediah and Mr. Kingsley Ejeuo, his kinsman and arch political opponent. He was arrested on his way to join Governor Amaechi Rotimi in his private jet at the Airforce Base to escape justice.

“Hon. Chidi Lloyd on December 30, 2013 while pursing his political opponent, knocked down Sgt. Urang Obadiah, in spite of his effort to stop him, rammed and killed him and went ahead to crush the Passat car of Mr. Kingsley Ejeuo was driving and killed him.

“Initially the Police thought that it was a mere accident, which ought to have been a manslaughter. The Commissioner of Police directed ACP Aliyu Garba, the Area Commander Metro, to visit him in his hospital bed and commiserate with him, conscious of what he did, Chidi Lloyd relocated to another hospital.

“Facts emerged that Chidi Lloyd drove a bullet-proof vehicle while pursuing his political opponent, late Mr Kingsley Ejeuo, and he (Lloyd) knocked down Sgt. Urang Obediah, who died on the spot and (Lloyd) moved ahead to smash a political opponent in his Passat car who equally died instantly."

The police command also claimed in the statement that Chidi Lloyd escaped from the hospital where he was being guarded by four policemen. He is currently in police custody.

Graduate commits suicide over woman in Ikorodu

According to a report by PM News, a graduate of Architecture, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ogunsona Daniel Adekunle Adebambo (pictured above) committed suicide by hanging himself in an uncompleted storey building yesterday January 1st 2014.

According to the report, the body of the 30 year old man was found around 1 a.m. yesterday dangling from a rope tied to the hook of a fan in an uncompleted storey building at 1, Alice Ogunsona Street, Hilltop Estate, Eruwen, Ikorodu. His body was found by his younger brother after reading the suicide not he wrote and left at their home. Continue...

Bill Gates is back to being the richest man in the world after making $15.8 billion in 2013 alone and raising his fortune to $78.5 billion.

Bloomberg’s billionaires index showed that the 300 richest people in the world increased their wealth by $524 billion in 2013 and the aggregate net worth of the world’s top billionaires stood at $3.7 trillion at the close of market on December 31.

Anyway, all that is in the past as they met and reconciled at an album launch where they both went to perform on 30th December in Uyo. Heard they will be getting into the studio sometime soon to do a song together. 2014 is the year of no beef! It's really not worth it...:-)

O.J. Simpson undergoing tests for brain cancer

According to a new report by National Enquirer, jailed former football star O.J. Simpson is receiving tests for brain cancer and is begging President Obama for a pardon so he can die in peace at home.

The magazine claims that Simpson, 66, who is serving a 33 year sentence in a prison in Nevada for kidnapping, assault and robbery, is undergoing secret medical exams for a cancerous tumor in his brain and is convinced he won't live long.

"O.J. says his memory is slipping and he gets painful headaches and other symptoms. He put off the doctors for weeks after he first started experiencing the symptoms because he was afraid of what they would find. Now the prison docs are telling him they believe he has a brain tumor. They plan to run a series of tests on him, MRIs and CT scans.' a source told The Enquirer

The Enquirer reports that Simpson told a friend, 'I feel the end coming. But I don't want to die in prison like common jailhouse scum.' O.J is up for parole in 2017
