As
the gale of same sex marriage is spreading across western world and
beyond it's gradually becoming a reality that an invitation to attend
one of this unusual weddings will be extended to an African residing in
this clime. Of course, every human being is a product of his/her
environment but since we are a part of every society we find ourselves,
there is no way we can exist in isolation - without interacting with
people of other cultures, orientations and belief systems at social
functions. These invitations could come in different forms - birthdays,
naming ceremonies, funerals, graduation ceremonies, wedding ceremonies
etc. But what if it is an invitation to attend a gay wedding? As an
African, how would you handle this situation especially if the person
inviting you is very very dear to you?
